Business Analyst


Summary

The Business Analyst (BA) will play a key role in bridging the gap between LIH's business needs and IT solutions. Operating within the Strategy & Management (S&M) Unit of the Department of Medical Informatics (DMI), the BA will analyze and document business requirements, design optimized processes, and lead or support IT project requests to advance LIH's research, operational, and strategic objectives in medical informatics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.
  • Translate complex needs into actionable project deliverables and IT solutions.
  • Plan, execute, and monitor IT projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
  • Manage project risks, dependencies, and resources, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams, business units, and external partners to ensure alignment and seamless collaboration.
  • Organize and facilitate workshops, meetings, and training sessions to support project objectives.
  • Foster continuous improvement by conducting post-project reviews, identifying lessons learned, and implementing improvements.
  • Demonstrate adaptability to changes in project scope, objectives, or priorities.
  • Stay updated on developments in Business Analysis, Project Management (PM), and relevant IT solutions.

Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Management, Sciences, or Engineering (preferred).
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or IT Project Manager, ideally in healthcare or medical informatics.
  • Proficiency in PM tools, Agile methodologies, and requirements elicitation/documentation tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Familiarity with data management, laboratory workflow, systems integration, and healthcare standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, OPENEHR).
  • Relevant project management and business analysis experience, particularly in healthcare or medical research settings.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional IT projects from inception to completion.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, risk management, and IT change management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to understand and optimize complex business processes.
  • Expertise in creating and managing business cases, user stories, workflows, and related documentation.
  • Fluency in English (mandatory) additional language skills (French, German, Luxembourgish) are a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effectively articulating technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Professional certifications such as ITIL, Prince2, PMP, or Agile Scrum are highly desirable.
