Business Developer – Technology Transfer & Partnership Officer

At the heart of this mission is our Business Development Office (BDO), which drives business development, technology transfer, intellectual property management, and strategic partnerships. The BDO fosters a vibrant entrepreneurial culture, supports innovation, and acts as a catalyst for the growth of Luxembourg’s biomedical research and innovation ecosystem.

In this context, we are seeking a Business Developer – Technology Transfer & Partnership Officer to strengthen our knowledge transfer and commercialization activities. In this dynamic role, you will:

  • Promote and develop technology transfer initiatives across LIH.
  • Support the commercialization and entrepreneurial activities of our research departments and technology platforms.
  • Provide strategic input and operational support to help advance high-potential projects toward market success.


Key Accountabilities

  • Assess the commercial potential of research outcomes and propose tailored valorisation strategies
  • Engage with private-sector partners, investors, and industry stakeholders to secure funding, establish co-development initiatives, and support spin-off creation
  • Build and validate business cases for innovations and emerging spin-offs, including market research, financial modeling, and business planning
  • Maintain strong partnerships with other research institutions and innovations networks
  • Coordinate the establishment of non-disclosure agreements, material transfer agreements, inter-institutional agreements that support technology valorisation
  • Conduct due diligence on prospective partners, using market intelligence, patent databases, and industry reports.
  • Prepare concise, actionable reports for internal stakeholders and contribute to the team’s CRM, and data platform, internal portal)
  • Curate and update intelligence tools and explore new AI-based methods to enhance the due diligence process.


Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Life or Biomedical Sciences, ideally with additional training in Business Development, Commercialization, or Technology Transfer
  • Minimum 2 years in a technology transfer office, innovation agency, or industry (e.g., biotech/pharma) in a Business Development or Technology Transfer role
  • Strong experience in the use of competitive intelligence analysis techniques/tools and high-level analytical skills to extract, organize, and analyze data and information gathered from a wide variety of sources and communicate the related report(s) to researchers
  • Experience in collaborating with commercial entities in the biotech/pharma sector
  • Effective project management skills
  • Strong negotiation skills, flexibility, and persuasion capacity allowing to answer internal and external expectations in a result-oriented approach.
  • Language skills: excellent written and spoken knowledge of English and French. German skills would be an advantage
