LIH is an institute supported by public and institutional funds from the Luxembourg Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR), as well as European grants (e.g. Horizon 2020) and national and international collaborative and competitive funding sources.  

As such, it is aware of its moral obligation to ensure that the resources granted to its researchers result in diagnostic and therapeutic tools and applications that have a tangible and meaningful impact on people’s health. 

Safeguarding population health and reinforcing on a daily basis the added-value of investing into high-quality biomedical research within reasonable timeframes are therefore key performance indicators guiding LIH’s activities.
