XPOSE
Doctoral Training in Exposome and Health
Navigating Complexity with Innovation
Consortium
Over 6,5 years the Xpose consortium will train 12 PhD students with hybrid profiles to be skilled to work in the interdisciplinary exposome environment. To reach this target the team will gather 12 principal investigators from 5 research entities of 3 institutions engaged in biomedical and socio-economic research:
- Department of Precision Health (LIH/DoPH);
- Department of Infection and Immunity (LIH/DII);
- Department of Urban Development & Mobility (LISER);
- Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (UL/FHSE);
- Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (UL/LCSB);
The consortium in its unique set-up will gather, for the first time, key stakeholders of exposome research in Luxembourg. They represent complementary research domains and knowhow – on precision & public health and epidemiology (LIH/DoPH & LISER), chemical exposure (LIH/DoPH & UL/LCSB), social and economic determinants of health (LISER, UL/FHSE, LIH/DoPH) as well as biological response (LIH/DoPH & DII, UL/LCSB).
Overall, the Xpose consortium offers a highly stimulating and innovative research environment with access to state-of-the-art laboratories and translational infrastructure, as well as, modern bioinformatics infrastructure and digital biomedical solutions.
The Xpose DTU is coordinated by Dr Brice Appenzeller and Dr Guy Fagherazzi from the Department of Precision Health of the LIH.
