Post-Doctoral Fellow in Experimental Systems Immunology


Background and Objectives.  

The postdoc position is funded through external competitive resource via Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR). The successful candidate is expected to perform large-scale deep immunephotypic analysis mainly on various clinical cohort samples and also various murine models. A strong and demonstrated laboratory immunological background especially in cytometry analysis is expected.

Training and Research Environment

The successful postdoc candidate will be embedded in a state-of-the-art laboratory at the Department of Infection and Immunity composed of ~100 staff members. The research team is a multidisciplinary and international unit with long-standing expertise in immunoageing and experimental systems immunology.

Key Skills, Demonstrated Experience and Qualifications:

  • Successful PhD (ideally PhD awarded within 2 years; or expect to complete before Jan, 2025) in the area of immunology or molecular or cellular biology;
  • Expected to have: hands-on experimental experience in cytometry analysis including cytometry data analysis;
  • Expected to have: laboratory experience in immune cell isolation, culture, differentiation and related molecular and cellular experiments;
  • Expected to have: hands-on mice handling experience;
  • Expected to have: at least one first-author original publication in recognized international journal(s);
  • Expected to have: professional English level; 
  • Good to have: fluent German or French or Dutch as a plus;
  • Good to have: skills in large-scale data analysis (e.g., skilled in R);
  • Self-motivated, open minded and curiosity-driven person, willing to work in a competitive, interdisciplinary, cooperative and international environment.
