Internship in Nutritional Sciences (Master students only)

Within the Department of Precision Health, Dr. Torsten Bohn, Head of the Nutrition & Health Research Group (NUTRIHEALTH), aims, in collaboration with his team, to explore the world of carotenoids and dietary fibers. An important focus is the role of dietary fibers on the bioaccessibility and bioavailability of carotenoids. The project aims to investigate the bioaccessibility of carotenoids by applying in vitro digestion techniques to various food matrices. This will be followed by an analysis of carotenoid uptake using CaCo-2 cell culture models to better understand their absorption and potential bioavailability.

For a project related to NutriHealth , we are offering a 6 monthspaid Master (2)-Student internship at our premesis.

The main tasks of the Master Student will be to work on in vitro digestion, recovery of carotenoids, measurement of physio-chemical properties of the digesta. In the frame of this work, the Master student will benefit from the expertise of Dr. Torsten Bohn in nutrition and health, and Dr. Farhad Vahid in nutrition sciences and food chemistry.
