The National Centre for Excellence in Research on Parkinson’s disease (NCER-PD; www.parkinson.lu) as the first interinstitutional and multidisciplinary consortium in Luxembourg is coordinated by the Department of Transversal Translational Medicine (TTM) of the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH) and aims to foster fundamental and clinical research in neurodegeneration and translating into innovative healthcare concepts and technology programs.
More than 9 years after its inception the NCER-PD is an emblematic translational programme and became a role model for precision medicine inviting public and private stakeholders to work translationally, fostering national and international bed-to-bench-to-bed collaborations and thereby acting as a bridge from fundamental over clinical research into the real-world healthcare.
For this programme we offer a programme manager position being the national and international contact point for researchers, clinicians, academic and private partners. The programme built large deep-phenotyped cohorts of people with and without Parkinson’s disease and individuals at risk. It represents the translational platform, integrating clinical research with fundamental science. It provides the basis for a variety of associated research projects including the Health Brain Aging (HeBA) study as well as the PPMI initiative funded by the Michael J. Fox Foundation (USA), and pioneers on biomarker research, drug development and clinical trials for people with Parkinson’s disease or at risk to develop a neurodegenerative diseases.
The Department for Transversal Translational Medicine is seeking a highly qualified candidate with experience in project management in the biomedical field to support the coordinator in the scientific management as well as the management of activities and the data management within the NCER-PD programme. The successful candidate is an proactive manager, border crosser between clinical and research domains, excellent communicator, and a team player. The ability to work in a fast-paced international academic environment with strong commitment to our translational mission is essential.
