In 2013, the LIH has been mandated by the Ministry of Health to set up a nationwide population-based cancer registry. The National Cancer Registry (RNC) is a systematic, continuous, exhaustive and non-redundant collection of data for each new case of cancer (excluded non melanoma skin cancer). The RNC is aimed at providing an objective analysis of cancer evolution in Luxembourg, and enables health care professionals and public authorities to better assess the quality of care provided to patients suffering from cancer. Further goal is to evaluate prevention campaigns and national cancer screening programs. In the medium term, the registry will serve as a tool to evaluate whether the National Cancer Plan is achieving its objectives. One of the purpose of the RNC is to be an infrastructure dedicated to epidemiological and clinical research in oncology.
We are seeking a motivated Epidemiologist who will analyze, interpret, and report cancer data to support cancer surveillance, research, and public health decision-making.
