Thomas Eiwegger has successfully completed training in Pediatrics, Pediatric Allergy and Pediatric Respiratory Medicine. He is the head of the Department of Pediatrics at the University Clinics St. Poelten, associate Professor at the Karl Landsteiner University, Krems and assoc. Prof, Department of Immunology, University of Toronto.
Since his transition to Austria in May 2021, he is an adjunct scientist at Research Institute at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. He currently leads research groups in Toronto and Austria that focus on the mechanisms of tolerance development, in the context of atopic diseases and on novel treatment approaches to food allergy.
Thomas Eiwegger published more than 140 peer reviewed articles (>5800 citations, H-index:42), held >100 invited lectures, supervises clinical fellows, master and PhD students. Dr. Eiwegger is associate editor of Allergy and the chair of the Biologics Working Group of EAACI.
