Medical doctor and Professor of Public Health at the Health Faculty of Paris-Est Creteil University
Florence Canouï-Poitrine is a medical doctor, Professor of Public Health at the Health Faculty of Paris-Est Creteil University, France. She teaches epidemiology, clinical research and public health for medical, allied health, nursing and scientific students. She leads the Clinical EPIdemiologyand Ageing (CEpiA) research team at the MondorBioMedical Research Institute (http://www.cepia.team/). Her main research domain is frailty and multimorbidityamong older patients with cancer. She authored more than 150 international scientific publications. She is Principal Investigator and Scientific Director of 10 clinical trials or cohorts studies in older patients.
The first part of this lecture will be focused on the operational processes of the ELCAPA cohort since its inception in 2007, i.e. patients recruitment, data and samples flows, data management, regulatory and ethics aspects, and governance.
Then, it will be centered on the main scientific questions, regarding impact of geriatric assessment, prognosis factors, risk factors for treatment toxicities and non-completion, performance and utility of frailty screening tools.
The last part will be dedicated to the presentation of the cohort under the prism of tool for training of early-career researchers.
