In this seminar, Professor Pierre Coulie will present a comprehensive overview of the major scientific breakthroughs that have shaped the development of current cancer immunotherapies. The session will provide insights into the most widely used immunotherapies, their clinical outcomes, and the challenges that remain. In addition, Professor Coulie will discuss ongoing research at the de Duve Institute, focusing on regulatory T cells, breast ductal in situ carcinomas, bladder cancer and BCG therapy, and the role of alpha2-adrenergic receptor activation in cancer treatment. The seminar will explore future prospects and expected progress in the field of cancer immunotherapy.
