Maryna Chepeleva, a PhD student in the Multiomics Data Science group in the Dept. of Cancer Research, has been recognized as one of the top three AI Young Professionals at the Women in AI (WAI) Benelux Summit 2024. Held on November 15th in Amsterdam, the event celebrated women driving innovations in artificial intelligence (AI) across the Benelux region.

Maryna participated in the AI Young Professional Panel, where she shared her perspectives on AI, challenges in the field, and the importance of amplifying diverse voices within the community. Her contributions highlight her commitment towards advancing ethical and impactful AI research.

The Women in AI Summit is part of the broader WAI Awards program, which honors 30 exceptional women in six categories, ranging from AI research to entrepreneurship and diversity leadership. The program aims to spotlight and support female innovators making significant impacts in AI.

In February next year, Maryna will attend the WAI Gala, where the winners in each category will be announced. We wish her lots of luck and congratulate her on her achievement!
