LIH researchers gather world expertise into an edited research topic addressing tumour immunology in B-cell malignancies, compiled into three e-books

As one of the LIH’s priority research focuses, its scientists help to guide and shape the future of cancer research in the international community. Now, with the hard work of researchers Jérôme Paggetti and Etienne Moussay of the Tumor-Stroma Interactions group in the LIH’s Department of Cancer Research, along with their colleague Martina Seiffert from the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), they have taken this one step further with the publication of three new e-books on the subject.

B-cell malignancies refer to a cancer of specific white blood cells, and can include diseases such as non-Hodgkin lymphomas and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. As with all cancers, these are continuing to be investigated by researchers around the world, gradually peeling back the layers of complexity in the hope of uncovering more effective therapies.

In the new research topic entitled ‘New Insights into the Complexity of Tumor Immunology in B-Cell Malignancies’, the researchers have gathered together 35 of the most recent and cutting edge articles by experts around the world and organised these into three e-Books, alongside editorials bringing the research together. Each volume deals with a different aspect of the topic, from the biology and mechanisms of the disease right through to prognostic and predictive biomarkers and potential therapies. It is hoped, that compiling and curating these knowledge repositories will help to guide researchers and provide inspiration for novel work that could ultimately lead to improved understanding and patient outcomes.
