Postdoctoral fellow in Chronic Inflammation and Respiratory Disease

Background

The postdoc position is funded as a PPP Healthtech project through external competitive funding by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR). The successful candidate will be part of the Research Group Molecular & Translational Allergology, an international team with long-standing experience and high visibility in allergy research. Project

Asthma is one of the most common chronic diseases in children, and its prevalence has been rising globally during the past thirty years, touching up to 10% of the young population. The aim of the project is to address two major challenges in asthma diagnosis and treatment, the low adherence to inhaled corticosteroid treatment and a suboptimal inhalation technique, as well as the lack of non-invasive biomarkers, by combining a digital health approach with deep immunophenotyping.

The project consortium combines technical and cutting-edge know-how with excellence in patient care. This translational research project unifies the expertise of a start-up company specialized in medical engineering with highly recognized experts in pneumology and allergology research and medicine in Luxembourg.

The Postdoctoral Researcher will participate in a translational research study led by Dr. Christiane Hilger (PI of the project) and integrate into a motivated and mixed team of BSc, MSc, PhD students and postdocs at LIH.
