METABO Platform Joins Benelux Metabolomics Centre

26 February 2025 1minute

We are proud to announce that starting this year (2025), the Metabolomics Platform (METABO) of the LIH has joined the Benelux Metabolomics Centre (BMC) / Netherlands Metabolomics Centre (NMC). This partnership marks an important step in strengthening the role of the LIH in the field of metabolomics and international biomedical research.

Under the new leadership of Dr. Nathalie Legrave, who succeeds Johannes Meiser, appointed director of LIH’s Department of Cancer Research in 2024, the METABO Platform will continue its comprehensive study of small molecules, with a specific focus on polar metabolites and lipids, particularly in cancer research.

The platform not only utilises state-of-the-art metabolomics techniques, but also actively develops and implements novel analytical methods to enhance metabolome coverage and support emerging research directions.

Furthermore, Dr. Legrave will also join the board of the BMC/NMC, ensuring the active involvement of the LIH in shaping the future of metabolomics across the Benelux region. This collaboration is expected to foster new opportunities for scientific exchange, technological development, and impactful biomedical applications.

Stay tuned for further updates as the METABO Platform embarks on this exciting new chapter!
