Research Luxembourg team players return with fourth season of “Women [& Girls] in Science” video series in collaboration with the Ministry for Gender Equality and Diversity (MEGA) and the Ministry of Research and Higher Education (MESR).
With a shared commitment to highlighting the diverse journeys of women in science across Luxembourg and inspiring young girls to pursue their scientific ambitions, the Research Luxembourg institutions have come together once again for the fourth season of the video series “Women & Girls in Science”. This initiative is carried out in collaboration with MEGA (the Ministry for Gender Equality and Diversity) and MESR (the Ministry of Research and Higher Education).
The campaign, launched on February 11, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, features LIH Group Leader Sabrina Fritah, head of our Cancer RNAs and Epigenetic group.
Choosing the path of science and research can have many trajectories. To showcase the variety of paths available, the fourth season of the “Women [& Girls] in Science” series highlights six women, each representing different institutions, scientific disciplines, backgrounds, and roles. From PhD candidate and research scientists to research support manager, their stories reflect the wide range of career opportunities within Luxembourg’s scientific landscape.
Each video offers a compelling glimpse into their personal and professional journeys, shedding light on the decisions they have made, the motivations behind their paths, and the messages they hope to inspire in young girls passionate about science.
Launched in 2022, the series has already completed three successful seasons, reaching over 850,000 viewers and receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback on social media. This initiative continues to celebrate the achievements and stories of women scientists in Luxembourg, aiming to inspire and empower women and girls in research, challenge stereotypes, and foster a more inclusive and diverse scientific community. It serves as a reminder that science is a field open to everyone.
To me, research is more than discovery; science is about constant learning, connecting with others and bringing human values to our work.
