The Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH) launched its wall of donors at the LCTR, honouring key supporters like Mr Krecké, whose generosity is driving essential advancements in Parkinson’s disease research in Luxembourg.
On the 6th of January 2025, the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH) proudly inaugurated its new wall of donors in the entry hall of the Luxembourg Clinical and Translational Research Centre (LCTR), recognizing the invaluable contributions of its supporters. The event was attended by Mr Jeannot Krecké, former Minister of the Economy, and his wife, Mrs Monique Giver, who were honoured for their generous donation to LIH’s research efforts within the National Centre of Excellence in Research on Parkinson’s disease (NCER-PD; www.parkinson.lu).
To express gratitude for their support, Mr Krecké and Mrs Giver were invited for a personalized visit to the LCTR. The visit included a warm welcome and introduction to LIH by Dr Frank Glod, Deputy CEO, and Prof Dr Christof Von Kalle, Director of the LCTR. Prof. Dr. Rejko Krüger, Director of Transversal Translational Medicine, then presented the latest advancements in various research areas of the NCER-PD, highlighting the significant impact of the Kreckés’ contribution on innovations in diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson’s disease. The couple also enjoyed a guided tour of the state-of-the-art LCTR facilities, followed by a session of informal discussions with key members of the research team.
Mr Krecké shared his thoughts on the occasion:
My wife and I are pleased to support the important work being carried out at the Luxembourg Institute of Health. It’s rewarding to see how contributions like ours can help advance research that has a real impact on people’s lives. We are honored to be part of this initiative.
Dr Frank Glod, Deputy CEO of LIH, shared his gratitude: “We are thankful to Mr Krecké, his wife, and all our donors. Their generosity enables us to continue advancing cutting-edge research across multiple fields. This wall of donors serves as a tribute to their vital support, and it symbolizes the collective effort that drives progress in health and science.“
The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the wall of donors, now prominently displayed in the LCTR’s entry hall. This tribute not only acknowledges the generosity of donors like the Kreckés but also symbolizes the vital role of philanthropic support in advancing translational research.
The LIH team expressed its deep gratitude, emphasizing how contributions like theirs are helping to create a meaningful impact for individuals and communities affected by various health challenges.
