activities

The Bioinformatics and AI focuses on analysis centered around multi-omics data, their integration, statistical analysis, developing predictive models and presentation of the results in relevant figures. When needed, additional clinical data are considered and integrated with multi-omics data. The Bioinformatics and AI also provides training in a variety of disciplines: biostatistics, R programming, data science, transcriptomics data analysis and machine learning. 

Projects & clinical trials

The group members contributed to the following research projects at LIH in the past two years: 

• “A diagnostic test to improve surveillance and care of COVID-19 patients” (COVIRNA), EU Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme, 2020-2023. 
• “Glioma longitudinal analysis in Luxembourg: ex vivo and in vivo functional profiling of recurrent gliomas” (GLASS-LUX), FNR, 2021-2024. 
• “Predicting the severity of COVID-19 infection” (Predi-COVID), FNR, Andre Losch Foundation, Luxembourg Institute of Health, The Government of Luxembourg. 
• “Decomposition of mixed transcriptomes for classification of heterogeneous tumour samples (DEMICS)”, Luxembourg’s National Research Fund (FNR), 2018-2020. 
• “Peptide, protein, single-cell map of the renin-angiotensin system in Covid-19” (RAS CoV-2), FNR Fast Track program, 2020
