Lab Hike though the Luxembourgish Switzerland

Taking a one-day break from work, the Cancer Metabolism Group enjoyed Luxembourg’s beautiful nature hiking through the Mullerthal. This area is also called the ‘Luxembourgish Switzerland’ due to its rocky landscape and represents a hotspot for all kind of outdoor activities. The rocks were shaped during the ice age and formed several caves – one of them is called the ‘Reiberhiel’, which means robber cave. Here, you even had to use your torch to find your way through the dark! Some rock fissures or passages are so narrow that one has to walk through them bent over- such as the ‘Passage Mandrack’.

Looking forward to more of such lab outings with a chilled barbecue at the end of the day!
